Kindergarten Readiness
Emotional and educational stability.
Our Pre-Kindergarten class encompasses a balance of structured learning times with opportunities for free play and choice. The children are well prepared for Kindergarten in all aspects including gross and small motor skills, academic learning, social and emotional development, group play and activity, and working within a group. They learn to follow simple directions and foster their focus in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Our pre-K teacher, Jessica Brimmer, has developed the curriculum to be very fun and interactive but also meet the goal of Kindergarten readiness as is needed for the children's success in elementary and beyond.
Jessica spends the month of January doing pre-Kindergarten readiness evaluations on each child individually. Her focus is on the whole child and the evaluation is very comprehensive. She then meets with each set of parents to go over them, so that parents have a true picture of their child's academic, social, emotional and physical readiness before signing up for Kindergarten.
