How do the children learn through play?

1

Kid Time offers hands on, play based learning at all ages. Children learn best when they have materials in their hands and can freely explore. They will learn about the world around them, tangible concepts that are meaningful to them in a variety of curated activities and projects. The teachers serve as facilitators; giving the children ample opportunities daily to learn and grow in a developmentally appropriate way.

Why don’t you do worksheets at Kid Time?

2

We view worksheets as “busy work” that usually serves as a a “receipt” for parents that their children did something today. At Kid Time, you’ll be able to tell your children were busy by the remnants of their hands on learning on their bodies and clothing. For us, worksheets are nothing but a placeholder and don’t hold much value in “kindergarten readiness”.

Why should I do Pre-K at Kid Time instead of TK?

3

Kid Time has been providing a well rounded pre-kindergarten program since the mid 90’s. We have mastered the balance of hands on learning and fun with incorporating the concepts needed for Kindergarten. We also place a large focus on independence, and giving the children opportunities to learn to care for themselves and their needs, both physical and social-emotional. Our class sizes are age appropriate as are our expectations. We know that four year olds have not mastered a lot of self care skills yet and we don’t require them to…we are here to help them and teach them so they can head to elementary school at 5, prepared and confident.
